Manhattan Early Childhood Professional Learning Seminar
In October, The Jewish Education Project hosted 50 educators for the Manhattan Early Childhood Professional Learning Seminar. Our staff is empowering the members of our Manhattan Directors Network for Early Childhood to become the creators of their own professional development, and the Directors determined the goals, content and structure of the seminar. The seminar’s sessions, on Music and Literacy, Reggio Emilia (Child-lead learning) and Differentiated Learning, were led by active teachers, which elevated the educators to share their strengths and experiences with their peers. The educators also met by age group (2s, 3s and 4s) to forge cohorts of teachers across the city who can share best practices and continue dialogue throughout the year. It is exciting to see learning that is director motivated, teacher led, and assisting in developing ongoing peer networks!
